Softball Adds Jacob Golder to Coaching Staff

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University softball head coach Alyssa Ruiz has announced the addition of Jacob Golder as an assistant coach ahead of the 2027 season. Golder joins the Bobcats after serving as the Director of Softball Operations & Analytics at the University of California San Diego.
"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Jacob Golder to Quinnipiac Softball. Jacob brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for developing student athletes. His experience and perspective will be a tremendous addition to our staff," said Ruiz.
At UC San Diego, Golder led the implementation and integration of the program's data-tracking systems, working closely with analytics student managers to ensure the accuracy and functionality of data collection and reporting processes. He also assisted with recruiting efforts, identifying prospective student-athletes and transfer candidates while contributing to advance scouting reports on opposing hitters and pitchers.
Golder joined the Tritons after serving as an assistant coach for Dartmouth baseball in January 2025. Working primarily with hitters, outfielders, and first basemen, he helped student-athletes develop both the mechanical and mental aspects of their game.
Prior to Dartmouth, Golder was a graduate manager at Northwestern University in 2024 while earning his master's degree in Sports Administration. With the Wildcats, he created scouting reports on opposing hitters and pitchers while assisting with practice planning and daily operations.
Before his time at Northwestern, Golder worked as a scout for Morton College, identifying and evaluating prospective players while producing detailed scouting reports. He also coached with Windy City Prospects, a high school travel baseball organization, and the Illinois Dodgers, where he worked with youth players ages 9-14.
Golder earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from DePaul University in 2022.
