
Bobcats Defeat Siena for First MAAC Tournament Win Since 2016

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
Quinnipiac struck first in the second inning, plating two runs behind an RBI double from Riley Potter and an RBI single by Aryn Bombery.
Sacred Heart answered in the third to tie the game before taking the lead in the fifth.
The Bobcats regained momentum in the sixth when Potter hit a two-run home run, her second of the season, making it 5-3 QU.

The Pioneers responded in the bottom half with four unanswered runs to secure the 7-5 victory and advance in the winners bracket.
Game Two
Facing Siena for the first time this season and MAAC Pitcher of the Year Gracie Goewey, the Bobcats fell behind early after a two-run home run in the first inning.
Kennedy DeMott answered immediately in the bottom half with a two-run homer of her own to tie the game. Sofia Vega followed with another two-run shot in the third to give Quinnipiac a 4-2 lead.

Siena battled back to retake the lead, but the Bobcats responded with six unanswered runs.
Noelle Reid tied the game with an RBI double before Mary Fogg gave Quinnipiac the lead once again with an RBI double of her own. Vega continued her standout performance with a two-run single to extend the lead to 8-5.

The Bobcats added insurance in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Riley Potter and an RBI single from DeMott to seal the 10-5 win.
Shannon Kendall earned her 15th victory of the season in relief, tossing 3.2 innings while allowing two runs on four hits and striking out two.
Quinnipiac advances to face the loser of No. 2 Fairfield and No. 3 Iona tomorrow at 9 a.m.
