Quinnipiac Athletics Statement on Softball Program

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Softball Head Coach Hillary Smith has resigned for another head coaching role, as announced by Director of Athletics Greg Amodio on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Smith took over as Head Coach at Quinnipiac in 2019, guiding the Bobcats to 119 total victories over the last eight years.
Most recently, she helped lead the program to its first winning season since 2012 (24-21 overall record). Smith and the Bobcats finished the 2026 campaign with 16 regular season MAAC wins – a new program record.
The Quinnipiac University Athletics Department will immediately begin a national search for the softball program's next head coach.
