Four Bobcats Selected in 2025 PWHL Draft

OTTAWA, Ontario — Four Bobcats were selected in the 2025 PWHL Draft on Tuesday evening, including Kendall Cooper '25 becoming the first Bobcat in program history to go in the first round to the Minnesota Frost.
Cooper led the way as the No. 6 overall pick before three Bobcats were selected in a span of six picks, Maya Labad '25 at No. 36, Maddy Samoskevich '25 at No. 39, and Kaley Doyle '25 at No. 41. QU's four picks were the third most of any NCAA school in the PWHL Draft and most by any ECAC school.
Kendall Cooper made history becoming the highest PWHL draft pick in program history, being selected by the back-to-back Walter Cup Champion Minnesota Frost. She finished her career in Hamden as one of the program's most accomplished players, garnering five All-ECAC selections and finishing fourth on the all-time career points list (116) and third in career assists (83). Her 116 points are the most by any Bobcat defender in program history.
Maya Labad was picked in the fifth round to the her hometown team the Montreal Victoire. She led the Bobcats in goals this season with 15 and second in points at 27. She finished just two points short of 100-point milestone, scoring 98 on 51 goals and 47 assists. Her 51 tallies are good for fifth all-time in career goals by a Bobcat. Labad also had 10 game-winning goals, tied for seventh in program history.
Maddy Samoskevich went three picks later to PWHL Vancouver, joining one of the two new expansion franchises in the league. After making the move to forward for her fifth year in Hamden, Samoskevich led the Bobcats in power-play goals with five while scoring 22 points. She finished her collegiate career with 84 points, which is good for 15th in program history while dishing 65 assists, sixth in program history.
Kaley Doyle was picked by the PWHL Sirens with the first pick in the sixth round, and was the fourth goaltender to be picked. Despite spending only one season as a Bobcat, Doyle made an immediate impact. Her 1.29 goals against average, .945 save percentage, and eight shutouts this season were each the fourth best in a single season in program history. She also finished top three nationally in each category.
