HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program's winning streak reached four on Wednesday afternoon, rallying back to defeat Canisius by a 19-11 final at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
The win clinched a playoff berth for the Bobcats, as they will head back to the MAAC Postseason for the second time in three years.
The visitors jumped out to a 5-3 first quarter lead and would grow their lead as three close to the halfway point of the second but Quinnipiac's offense could kick into high gear, outscoring the Griffins 15-4 the rest of the way.
The Bobcats would close the first half on a 5-1 stretch, with back to back goals from Mia Delmond giving Quinnipiac a 9-8 advantage heading into the break.
After Canisius took the lead with two goals in 18 seconds to start the third, they would not score again in the frame as the Bobcats ripped off a seven-goal run, bookended by tallies from first-year Anna Givens.
Givens would add another in the third, with Emma Miller-Ayala and Abby Wise joining Delmond in scoring fourth-quarter tallies.
Miller-Ayala was all over the draw circle as well, corralling a career-and-team-best eight as she also scored a goal as well.
