Quinnipiac Battles but Falls to Fairfield

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team battled but ultimately fell in its last home regular season game of the season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 17-13 scoreline to Fairfield in Hamden.
The game got off to a flying start, as the two teams combined for 12 goals in the first quarter with the visiting Stags grabbing seven of them. Emma Miller-Ayala scored the last two of the frame, cutting the deficit to one each time.
After a Julia Givens tally made it 7-6 early in the second, Fairfield took advantage of two, non-releasable yellow cards called on Quinnipiac, scoring five in a row to take control at 12-6.
The Bobcats battled back, scoring six of the next eight to cut the deficit to 14-12 with 2:41 to go but could not get any closer as Fairfield scored three of the final four goals of the contest.

The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program plays for its playoff lives on Saturday afternoon, taking on Sacred Heart in Fairfield on April 18 at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats must win to continue their playoff quest as they chase down the No. 6 seed in the MAAC postseason.

- Anna Givens' four goals are a new career-high, besting her three against Canisius on April 16, 2025.
- Bendowski now sits with 69 points on the season, just two away from breaking the single-season program record held by Katie Latonick. Her current total puts her alone in second, ahead of Abby Wise's 68 from a year ago.
- Peyton Choma finished the day with three assists and continues her hot streak, now with 12 points in the last three games.
- Julia Givens has multiple goals in three straight games and seven of her last eight, currently sitting with 34 on the season.
- Givens joined Hannah West in leading the team with four draw controls each, tied for the most on the team.
