GAME REWIND
The Bobcats wasted no time establishing an early lead, as Emma Miller-Ayala and Peyton Choma each found the back of the net within the first two minutes of play. Quinnipiac extended the lead to 3-0 on a woman-up goal from Brie Provenzano before the Griffs could answer. By the end of the first quarter, the Bobcats held a 5-2 advantage.
The second quarter saw both sides trade runs, with Julia Givens and Anna Givens contributing to a five-goal frame that sent Quinnipiac into the locker room with a comfortable 10-5 lead.
However, Canisius mounted a fierce comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the Bobcats 5-1 to cut the deficit to a single goal at 11-10.
With the momentum shifting toward the home team, Shannon Alden stepped up in the final period. Alden recorded several point-blank saves to keep the Bobcats ahead, while Cate Bendowski and Choma added insurance goals to seal the 13-11 victory and punch Quinnipiac's ticket to the next round.
