4/18/2026 5:19:00 PM | Women's Lacrosse
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Cate Bendowski broke the program's single-season points record and the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program clinched a berth to the 2026 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats knocked off Sacred Heart 16-9.
Bendowski had a five-point day with two goals and three assists, jumping ahead of Katie Latonick on the single-season points leaderboard as she now sits with 74 on the season. Latonick had 70 during the 2010 season.
She was one of three Bobcats who put together five-point days, with Emma Miller-Ayala and Mia Delmond also totaling three goals and two assists.
It was a tight start, as the teams split the first ten goals as Miller-Ayala and Bendowski both potted a pair during that span.
Quinnipiac then took control, scoring eight of the next nine in a run that spanned 22:37 across the second to fourth quarters. Julia Givens scored three of her four during that stretch and the run was capped by her sister Anna, who made it 13-6 Bobcats with 13:51 to go in the fourth.
Maddy Ward again came on in relief between the pipes, making six saves on 11 shots on her cage over the final 45 minutes of the game.
STATS AND NOTES
The MAAC Quarterfinal round aways as the Bobcats will head to third-seeded Canisius on Sunday, April 26 for a rematch in Buffalo of a game the Golden Griffins won at the buzzer by a 15-14 scoreline on March 25.
