Quinnipiac, Monmouth Set to Face Off Saturday to Culminate Five-Game Home Stretch
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team eyes a 4-1 start to the season on Saturday afternoon, taking on Monmouth at 1 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium. The Bobcats have won three of their first four to begin the campaign, all on home turf.
Abby Wise is off to a hot start offensive, scoring nine goals and dishing nine assists to lead the squad with 18 points. Cate Bendowski has scored 12 goals in the first four outings, leading the team in that department.

Abby Wise finished two points shy of the program record against New Hampshire on Saturday, recording five goals and four assists in a 17-9 victory over the Wildcats in Hamden. Six different players scored multiple goals as Quinnipiac raced out to a 4-1 lead and then used a six-goal run early in the second half to race away from the Wildcats.
Shannon Alden made nine saves on 18 shots on her cage, while Mia Delmond led the way with three caused turnovers as part of four Bobcats recording two-plus in that department.
IN THE RANKINGS
As a team, the Bobcats enter the weekend second in the country in free-position percentage, converting on 68.4 percent of their opportunites from the eight-meter. They are also 11th in shot percentage (.496) and currently lead the MAAC in 11 statistical categories.
Cate Bendowski enters the weekend first in the MAAC and 10th nationally in shot percentage, scoring on 70.6 percent of her shot attempts. Also in the top 20 nationally is Shannon Alden in save percentage, clocking in at .521 to enter the weekend.

Abby Wise had a career day and came close to program history on Saturday afternoon, recording five goals and four assists for a nine-point outing against New Hampshire. She joined EllaGrace Delmond as the only Bobcats to have a nine-point day since the 2018 season and they are now two of eight to reach that mark in program history.
THE MATCHUP vs. MONMOUTH
In a matchup of old MAAC and NEC foes, the two teams will meet for the 28th time on Saturday afternoon in a return matchup of last year's rain-soaked affair in New Jersey. The Bobcats flew out to a 6-2 lead but were not able to hold on as Monmouth came back for the win.
Mia Delmond, EllaGrace Delmond and Cate Bendowski all recorded two-point days, while Wise added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
