Quinnipiac Wins Four of Five in Season-Opening Homestand
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program culminated its five-game homestand with a 19-10 victory over Monmouth on Saturday afternoon, using a 10-2 stretch to take control and move to 4-1 on the season.
It was a balanced offensive attack as six Bobcats recorded multiple points on the day, with EllaGrace Delmond and Abby Wise leading the way with five each.
Mia Delmond joined her sister atop the goals leaderboard with four.
On the defensive end, Maggie Kennedy had a career day with three ground balls and three caused turnovers to anchor the Bobcat effort.
The teams split the first four goals of the game but the hosts would take control from there, as Quinnipiac turned a 2-2 game 10 minutes in, to a 6-2 game just 5:02 into the second quarter.
It grew from there as The Bobcats lead grew as large as ten, with EllaGrace Delmond's goal at the 9:08 mark of the fourth starting the running clock at 18-8.
Shannon Alden had another strong game in the cage, saving 15 of the 25 shots on her cage.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats hit the road for the first time this season, heading to UMass Lowell for a 4:30 p.m. first draw.

- They also had a season-high 15 saves from Shannon Alden.
- EllaGrace Delmond's four goals are the most she's had this season and tied for the most she's scored since April 6 against Rider.
- Mia Delmond's four goals are the most since she had five at Sacred Heart on Feb. 28, 2024.
- Kennedy set new career marks in both ground balls and caused turnovers, recording three of each.
- Anna Givens recorded her fourth, multi-goal outing in her first five collegiate games. She had a three-point day and has seven over her last two.
