Grisdale Scores 1,000th Point as QU Blows Out Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team returned from Thanksgiving Break in a big way, defeating the Boston College Eagles, 76-49, on Wednesday afternoon. The win marks the first time the Bobcats have beaten the Eagles in program history.
Sydney Ryan led the Bobcats in scoring with 18 points on 54.5% (6-for-11) shooting from the floor. Jackie Grisdale became the newest member of the program's 1,000-Point Club, becoming the 18th Bobcat to reach that mark in Division I history and 28th all-time. Grisdale finished the day with 17 points on 60% (6-for-10) shooting from the field. Ella Ryan reached double figures once again (11 points), and Anna Foley recorded her second straight double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds).

Boston College scored the game's first four points before the Bobcats started their scoring on a turnaround jumper from Anna Foley. The Bobcats would turn the game in their favor as they exploded for a 15-2 run to take a 15-6 lead at the media timeout. Out of the break, Boston College would cut down on the deficit, but the Bobcats still led 19-11 after the opening ten minutes.
After Boston College cut it to a six-point game fifty seconds into the second quarter, the Bobcats took over once again. Quinnipiac was led by Sydney Ryan as they went on an 11-3 scoring run to take a 30-16 lead into the second quarter media timeout. The two teams traded points out of the timeout, but the Bobcats entered the break with a 14-point (38-24) lead.
Quinnipiac continued to dominate control of the game as they started the second half on an 8-0 run to force the Eagles to call a timeout. Out of the break, Quinnipiac kept their distance as they led the Eagles by twenty at the media timeout. Jackie Grisdale put an exclamation point on the quarter as she knocked down a three to etch her name into Bobcat history, becoming the 28th Bobcat all-time to score 1,000 career points.
Another 8-0 run for the Bobcats to start the fourth quarter stretched their lead to 29 (69-40) at the final media timeout. Quinnipiac put themselves in the driver seat for the remainder of the game as they defeated the Boston College Eagles for the first time in program history, 76-49.

- Maria Kealy dished out five assists in the win, giving her 19 on the season.
