Marinov, Schwartz Earn ECAC Weekly Honors After Three-Win Week

DANBURY, Conn. — Sophomore netminder Matej Marinov and first-year forward Aaron Schwartz were both tabbed as ECAC Hockey weekly award winners, the conference announced on Monday morning.
Marinov is the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week after posting a 25-save shutout against Princeton on Saturday night. The Nitra, Slovakia native did not allow a goal for the second time in his collegiate career and the first time in the 2024-25 campaign. Overall on the week, he made 37 saves on 38 shots, allowing just one goal against Stonehill on Monday night. It is the second time this season that Marinov earned the honor, with his first coming after aiding the Bobcats to a season-opening win against Penn State on Oct. 12.
Schwartz earned his frist weekly accolade of his collegiate career, earning the league's Forward of the Week, presented by BlueBird hotels. The Parkland, Fla., native recorded a five-point week, setting a new collegiate best with four against Stonehill on Jan. 6 before adding the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win over Princeton on Friday night in New Jersey. Currently, the winger has 17 points on the campaign. His eight goals are tied for third on the team leaderboard while his nine assists are good for fourth on the squad.
Quinnipiac returns to the M&T Bank Arena ice this weekend, taking on Colgate and Cornell in Hamden. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. puck drops and can be seen live on ESPN+.
