HAMDEN, Conn. – Jared Zimbardo and Kyle Maves combined to drive in eight runs, as the Quinnipiac baseball team picked up a victory in the weekend finale against MAAC foe Mount St. Mary's, 10-2, Sunday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field.

With the win, the Bobcats improved to 17-23 overall on the season and 10-8 in the MAAC, while the Mountaineers improved to 21-21 on the 2023 campaign and 7-8 in MAAC contests with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Quinnipiac struck first in the bottom of the third after Braydon Seaburg led off the frame with a double, followed by a Jared Zimbardo two-run homer later in the inning to give QU an early 2-0 advantage. The Zimbardo struck again the following inning as he lined a two-run single up the middle to extend the lead to 4-0. Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Kyle Maves came through with a bases-clearing triple to push the lead to 7-0.

The Mountaineers tallied two runs, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats held on for the 10-2 victory.

Kevin Seitter (5-3) got the start and earned the win after allowing two earned runs on five hits over 9.0 innings pitched
He struck out eight batters in the outing
It marked the second complete game of the season for Seitter
Jared Zimbardo led the offense with two singles, a homer, three runs scored and four RBIs
Zimbardo has three homers over his last three games
His nine homers ranks second on the team
Kyle Maves added a triple, two walks and four RBIs in the victory
Maves' four triples is tops on the team

The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, May 3, when QU plays host against UMass at 3 p.m.
