Bobcats Complete Fourth Quarter Comeback for 10th Straight Win

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's basketball overcame a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit, picking up its 10th win in a row as the Bobcats defeated MAAC foe Rider on the road, 59-54, Saturday evening inside of Alumni Gymnasium.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 19-7 overall on the season and 14-3 in the MAAC, while the Broncos fell to 7-19 overall and 4-13 in conference play. The win extended Quinnipiac's win streak to 10 games, the longest since the 2018-19 season with 21 consecutive victories.
Mikala Morris led the Bobcats with 15 points and three steals in the victory, while Jackie Grisdale added 12 points of her own. Ella O'Donnell contributed 10 points off the bench in the win.
After falling behind 4-2, the Bobcats rallied for an 11-2 run powered by six points from Jackie Grisdale to take a 13-6 lead.
The Broncs battled back, outpacing the Bobcats 7-4 for the remainder of the frame to trim their deficit to 17-13 entering the second.
Quinnipiac upped the defensive intensity in the second quarter, holding Rider scoreless the first 6:08 of the frame, extending its lead to 23-13 during that span. However, the Broncs did not go away quietly, going on a 15-6 run to cut their deficit to 29-28 entering the half.
The Broncs carried its momentum into the second half, opening the third with an 8-3 run to take a 36-32 lead over the Bobcats. After Quinnipiac battled back to tie the contest at 36-36, Rider responded with a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 42-36 before the Bobcats called a timeout with 2:33 remaining in the frame. After falling behind 45-36, Quinnipiac went on a swift 5-2 run to close the quarter, capped by a Rose Caverly buzzer-beater to trim the deficit to six entering the fourth.
