Three Bobcats Reach Double-Figure Point Totals in Victory Over Saint Peter's

HAMDEN, Conn. – It was a full-team effort, as Quinnipiac women's basketball dominated from start-to-finish in a 62-45 victory over Saint Peter's Thursday evening inside of M&T Bank Arena.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 10-7 overall on the season and 5-3 in the MAAC, while the Peacocks fell to 0-17 overall and 0-8 in conference play. Cur'Tiera Haywood led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Mikala Morris added 13 points, four blocks and four assists, while Jackie Grisdale tallied 10 points of her own in the victory.
Quinnipiac got off to a fast start, using the opening 3:34 of the contest to go on a 9-3 run, forcing Saint Peter's to call a timeout. The two sides were nearly even the remainder of the quarter, with the Bobcats outscoring the Peacocks 9-8 to carry an 18-11 lead into the second.
After Saint Peter's cut the deficit to 22-15, Quinnipiac responded with a 6-0 run, led by five points from Mary Baskerville to extend the lead to 28-15.
The Bobcats were able to maintain momentum, taking a 31-18 lead into halftime.
The Peacocks opened the second half with a 7-3 run to trim their deficit to nine points. However, the Bobcats responded with an 8-0 run of their own, capped by a three-point play from Cur'Tiera Haywood, aiding in Quinnpiac's 44-29 lead entering the fourth.
The deficit proved to be too much for Saint Peter's, as Quinnipiac cruised to an eventual 62-45 victory.
