Eight Different Players Score in Dominant Win
Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team opened up MAAC play with a 19-7 victory over the Marist Red Foxes on Saturday afternoon. First year Ellagrace Delmond recorded five goals on six shots and picked up one ground ball. Junior goalkeeper Kat Henselder made 11 saves for the Bobcats in the win.
Sophia Iaccino, Maddie Deegan, and, Sophie Spencer each recorded a hat-trick to lead the Bobcats to their fifth win of the year. In total, eight Bobcats found the back of the net.

GAME SUMMARY
- Maddie Deegan opened up the scoring with a goal just 39 seconds in, giving the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophia Iaccino tallied her first goal of the game with 12:58 left in the first frame and the Bobcats had the two goal advantage early into this game.
- Quinnipiac would tally three more goals within 3:22. Desiree Kleberg, Maddie Deegan, and Emily Feeney helped push the Bobcats' lead to five.
- With 4:29 left in the first quarter, Marist's Maddie Schrader scored the Red Foxes' first goal of the game to make it a 5-1 game.
- Ellagrace Delmond got the goal right back with her first of the game 1:30 after Marist's goal. The Bobcats pushed the lead back to five, 6-1.
- Alex Di Chiara took the lead back down to four with her first goal of the game, but Quinnipiac still held a 6-2 lead.
- Sophie Spencer rounded out the scoring for the first quarter and the Bobcats headed into the second quarter with the 7-2 advantage.
- Maddie Deegan opened the scoring again for the Bobcats in the second quarter when she scored on the man advantage with 11:10 left on the clock.
- Ellagrace Delmond scored two goals 4:43 apart to push the Bobcats lead to 10-2.
- Kerri Gutenberger brought the Red Foxes within seven at the end of the first half. The Bobcats entered halftime with the 10-3 lead.
- Once again, the Bobcats opened the scoring for the quarter. This time, Sophia Iaccino ripped one into the back of the net off a pass from Emily Feeney to give Quinnipiac an 11-3 lead.
- Alana Tavares brought Marist back within seven with 9:34 left to play in the third quarter.
- With 8:05 to go in the third quarter, Ellagrace Delmond tallied her fourth goal of the game to push the Bobcats' lead right back to eight, 12-4 Bobcats.
- With under 4 minutes to play in the third, Desiree Kleberg fired one home and the Bobcats had the 13-4 advantage.
- Sophie Spencer scored two goals 1:06 apart to round out the scoring heading into the final quarter. The Bobcats entered the final frame with a 15-4 lead.
- For the second straight quarter, Sophia Iaccino opened the scoring up for Quinnipiac with her third goal of the game just 45 seconds into the final quarter.
- With just under 12 minutes to go, Ellagrace Delmond scored her fifth goal of the game and gave the Bobcats their biggest lead in the game, 17-4.
- The Red Foxes scored 3 straight goals and was capped off by Kerri Gutenberger with 5:30 left in the game.
- On the man-up advantage with 2:43 left to go, Abby Wise scored her second goal of the year to push the lead back to 11.
- Senior Meng Meun Young scored her first collegiate goal to cap off the scoring in this MAAC matchup. The Bobcats took this one, 19-7.
- The Bobcats outshot the Red Foxes, 36-24.
- Both teams were very efficient clearing their defensive zones as Quinnipiac went 20-22 on clears and Marist went 16-17.
- The Bobcats caused 9 Marist turnovers.
- The Bobcats had three extra man opportunities compared to Marist's zero.
- The Bobcats will welcome the San Diego State Aztecs to Hamden on Wednesday, March 30th at 3:00 PM.
