PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Three different Bobcats drove in two runs apiece, as the Quinnipiac baseball team fell to Saint Joseph's, 15-8, in game two of a three-game set on the road Saturday afternoon on Smithson Field.

Sebastian Mueller, Andrew McDermott and Danny Melnick registered two RBIs apiece, while Anthony Donofrio and Sam LaChance added an RBI apiece.

The Bobcats fell to 0-2 on the 2022 campaign with the loss, while the Hawks improved to 2-0 with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats struck first for two runs in the opening frame behind a two-run double from Sebastian Mueller to put QU ahead 2-0. After the Hawks posted a run in the second, the Bobcats responded with a run of their own behind a sac-fly from Sam LaChance to plate Anthony Donofrio to extend QU's lead to 3-1.

Saint Joseph's scored a combined five runs in the fourth and fifth inning to push ahead 6-3 before Danny Melnick's RBI single in the sixth cut the Bobcats' deficit to two runs. However, the Hawks would go on to tack on nine runs over the next three frames before hanging on for the 15-8 win over Quinnipiac.

Donofrio went 4-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base
Mueller added a double and two RBIs
LaChance went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a hit
Melnick went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs
Andrew McDermott went 1-for-1 with two RBIs, with his lone hit coming in a pinch-hit situation
Kevin Seitter got the start and took the loss after giving up six earned runs and striking out five in five innings of work
