HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 9/9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey defeated the #6/6 Yale Bulldogs on Friday night in front of a stellar crowd in Hamden. Graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 38 saves in the win, and Renee Saltness, Kendall Cooper, Jess Schryver and Olivia Mobley lit the lamp.

Quinnipiac secured home ice for the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament with the victory. The quarterfinals are set to begin next weekend. In addition, the Bobcats recorded the team's fourth-straight win and second top-ten victory in four games.

The Bobcats need one more win to tie the program record of 16 ECAC Hockey victories, which was set during the 2015-16 season.

SCORING SUMMARY

(5:10, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Yale 0: Renee Saltness opened the scoring with a goal in the first period off a turnover in the Bulldogs' defensive end. Sophie Urban and Olivia Mobley tallied assists on the goal.
(8:46, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Yale 1: Yale's Anna Bargman netted the Bulldogs' lone goal in the first period and was assisted by Elle Hartje.
(15:55, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Yale 1: Kendall Cooper scored a goal from almost at the blue line on the right side to give Quinnipiac a 4-1 lead.
(18:01, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Yale 1: Steigauf skated around a Yale defenseman in the Bobcats' attacking zone and slid the puck over to Jess Schryver on the left side. Schryver tapped it in past Yale's Meloni to give Quinnipiac a 3-1 lead.
(17:40, 3rd period, EN) – Quinnipiac 4, Yale 1: Mobley raced after a puck in the neutral zone as the Bobcats were skating down, 6-versus-5, beat two Yale players and tapped in the empty net goal.

PROGRAM HISTORY NOTES

Quinnipiac earned its 23rd win against Yale.
The Bobcats have played the Bulldogs three times this seasona and have won every game, including two in which Yale was ranked in the top ten.
Yale has only recorded six losses total this season, and Quinnipiac has handed them three losses out of those six.

NOTES

Mobley and Cooper led the team with two points each on one goal and one assist.
Saltness and Schryver also lit the lamp tonight for the Bobcats.
Urban, Steigauf and Adzija also tallied helpers in the win.
Schroeder made 38 saves and recorded her 12th win of the season, including the last four straight games.
Yale out shot Quinnipiac 39-27.
There were only three penalties called in the game. Yale went 0-2 on the power play, and Quinnipiac went 0-1.
Adzija led the team with 14 individual faceoff wins. Quinnipiac held the edge with a 59.4 winning percentage in the faceoff circle.
