HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball enters the new year riding a three-game win streak after defeating MAAC newcomers Mount St. Mary's, 64-52, on New Year's Eve inside of M&T Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon.

However, Mount St. Mary's closed the first quarter with a 13-4 run, taking a 16-11 lead into the second.
The two sides traded baskets over the first six minutes of play in the second period, with Quinnipiac narrowly outscoring Mount St. Mary's 12-10 to cut the deficit to 26-24 with four minutes left before the break. The Mount responded by narrowly outpacing the Bobcats 11-8 the rest of the frame to carry a 37-32 lead into halftime.
