Bobcats Sweep Niagara for Fourth Consecutive Victory

HAMDEN, Conn. – Aryanah Diaz tallied 16 kills to lead the Quinnipiac volleyball program past Niagara in straight sets at home Sunday afternoon on Burt Kahn Court to extend the Bobcats' win streak to four games, its longest since 2019.
Nicole Legg contributed six kills and six blocks, Alexandra Tennon paced the Bobcats with 11 digs and Damla Gunes tallied a game-high 27 assists in the victory.

The two sides traded points to an 18-18 tie before a Niagara point forced QU to burn its first timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, a long rally resulted in blocks from Alexandra Tennon and Nicole Legg to tie the set at 19-19. The two sides proceeded to trade points to a 22-22 tie before a kill from Aryanah Diaz gave QU a one-point advantage. Back-to-back attack errors from the Purple Eagles resulted in a QU 25-22 set victory.
SET TWO (25-12)
The two sides played to a 6-6 tie in the set before back-to-back attack errors from Niagara allowed QU to push ahead 8-6, forcing the Purple Eagles to burn their first timeout of the set. Quinnipiac's lead reached 18-9 before Niagara used its final timeout of the set. The lead proved to be too much for the Purple Eagles, as QU cruised to a 25-12 set victory.
SET THREE (25-18)
The two sides played to an 11-11 tie in the set before a Niagara attack error and back-to-back service aces from Yagmur Gunes put QU ahead 14-11 and forced a timeout from the Purple Eagles. Out of the break in action, QU went on a 6-2 run to extend its lead to 20-14. The lead proved to be too much for Niagara, as the Bobcats held on for the 25-18 set win and 3-0 match victory.
