Bobcats Edged in Three Sets Against Fairfield at Home

HAMDEN, Conn. – Aryanah Diaz led the way with a game-high 14 kills, but it wasn't enough as the Quinnipiac volleyball team fell short in straight sets at home inside of Burt Kahn on Saturday afternoon, snapping a four-game win streak.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The two sides played to a 9-9 tie before Fairfield went on a 3-0 run to take a 12-9 lead, forcing a QU timeout. Out of the break, Fairfield built its lead to 19-12 before Quinnipiac used its final timeout of the set. QU would cut it as close as 22-15 before Fairfield went on to take the set, 25-16.
SET TWO (25-10)
The Stags got off to a hot start in the second set, jumping out to a 9-3 lead before Quinnipiac called a timeout. Out of the break, Fairfield built its lead to 17-7 before taking the set, 25-10.
SET THREE (25-22)
The two sides played evenly early in the set before Fairfield crept ahead to a 14-9, forcing Quinnipiac to burn a timeout. The Bobcats rallied with a 4-2 run to cut the deficit to 16-13, forcing the Stags to burn a timeout. Quinnipiac cut the deficit to as close as 22-21 before Fairfield took three of the next four points to secure the set and match victory.
