#7/6 Bobcats Battle in Overtime Loss to #9 Colgate

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 7/6 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team battled to a 4-3 overtime loss against No. 9/9 Colgate on Friday evening. The Raiders and Bobcats went back-and-forth throughout the game, but Colgate came out on top in overtime.
Sophomores Nina Steigauf and Kendall Cooper and junior Jess Schryver all scored for Quinnipiac. Allyson Simpson netted the game-winner in the overtime period to send Colgate past Quinnipiac.
Graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 30 saves in the net, and Colgate's Kayle Osborne tallied 22 of her own between the pipes.

- (2:30 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Colgate 1: The Raiders got on the board early in the first period with a goal from Dara Greig. Kalty Kaltounkova and Danielle Serdachny tallied assists on the goal.
- (5:24, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 1: Steigauf netted her 12th goal of the year to tie the game about three minutes after Colgate's first goal. Sophomore Maddy Samoskevich found Kendall Cooper who shot it on net, and Steigauf drilled the rebound home past Osborne.
- (7:02, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 1: The Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in the first period with a goal from Cooper on the right side of the crease. Senior Lexie Adzija tallied the assist after winning the face off at the beginning of the play.
- (16:36, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 2: The Raiders tied the game in the second period with an unassisted back-hand goal scored by Neena Brick.
- (11:37, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 3: Colgate took a 3-2 lead in the third period with a goal scored by Kaitlyn O'Donohoe. She was assisted by Malia Schneider.
- (11:50, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Colgate 3: The Bobcats answered right back 13 seconds later as Jess Schryver netted the game-tying goal. Sophie Urban found Sadie Peart, who made a powerful net drive and found Schryver on the back-door.
- (00:38), 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Colgate 4: Allyson Simpson netted the game-winning goal in overtime from the slot. Serdachny tallied the assist.
- Steigauf scored her 12th goal of the season to lead the Bobcats.
- Cooper notched her seventh point in four games and had a goal and an assist in tonight's game.
- Schryver tallied her fourth goal of the year and now has 15 points on the season.
- Adzija, Cooper, Samoskevich, Peart and Urban all recorded helpers.
- Schroeder made 30 saves in the overtime loss.
- Colgate out shot Quinnipiac, 34-25.
- The Raiders dominated the face-off circle, winning 36 of 56.
