Bobcats' Comeback Falls Short vs Harvard

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 4/4 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team fell to the No. 9/9 Harvard Crimson on Saturday afternoon in a 3-2 battle. The Crimson jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Bobcats came back after being down to cut the lead to one goal. Harvard would score once more to extend its lead to 3-1. Quinnipiac added an extra-attacker goal to come within one, but the Crimson held on to win 3-2.
Junior Sadie Peart and senior Zoe Boyd scored for Quinnipiac. Graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 23 saves in the net.
Quinnipiac will take on Dartmouth at home on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. to complete the weekend's competition.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (3:01, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Harvard 1: The Crimson struck first to take a 1-0 lead in the first. Emma Buckles scored a wrap around goal past graduate graduate Corinne Schroeder from Kristin Della Rovere and Becca Gilmore.
- (13:16, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Harvard 2: Anne Bloomer netted the Crimson's second goal of the game on a breakaway from Della Rovere.
- (7:50, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Harvard 2: The Bobcats got on the board in the third period with a goal from junior Sadie Peart. Junior Alexa Hoskin snagged the puck from a Harvard defenseman and sent it along the board to junior Jess Schryver. Schryver skated behind the net and sent a beautiful pass to Peart right in the slot. Peart struck the puck first time and scored.
- (14:52, 3rd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 1, Harvard 3: The Crimson tallied a power play goal late in the third to take a 3-1 lead. Shannon Hollands netted the game-winning goal from Dominique Petrie and Brooke Jovanovich.
- (17:24, 3rd period, EA) – Quinnipiac 2, Harvard 3: MWIth an extra attacker, the Bobcats scored its second goal of the game off a rebound. Sophomore Kendall Cooper sent the puck to sophomore Olivia Mobley, who shot it first time on net. The rebound went to the right circle, and senior Zoe Boyd hit it first time into the back of the net.
- Peart scored her eighth goal of the year and leads the team with 21 points.
- Boyd netted her first goal of the season and now has four points this year.
- Senior Lexie Adzija led the team with six shots on net.
- Schroeder made 23 stops in the net.
- The Bobcats out shot Harvard, 33-26.
- There were nine total penalties in this game. The Bobcats went 0-5 on the power play, and the Crimson went 1-2.
