HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac baseball team will wrap up the 2021 MAAC Regular Season as the Bobcats will take on the Marist Red Foxes in a home-and-home series beginning with a doubleheader Friday at Quinnipiac and doubleheader Saturday at Marist.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac took a game from the Canisius Golden Griffins in a four-game series at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo. It was the Bobcats first action since April 14. The Bobcats fell in the opening game on Sunday, 5-1, before falling in game two, 15-5, which was completed on Monday due to rain. Arthur Correira was dominant in game three of the series, tossing a complete-game in a 2-1 win before the Bobcats fell in the finale, 10-2.
Scouting Marist
Marist enters the weekend with a 15-7 record and are ranked sixth in the MAAC Standings, just one win behind Canisius and one ahead of Siena. The Red Foxes are four wins out of second place. Marist has won five straight games heading into this weekend's series, taking the final three games of last weekend's four-game series vs. Manhattan before sweeping a doubleheader with Siena on Wednesday. Niko Amory leads the team with a .373 batting average while Matt Rubayo has been one of the most lethal hitters with a .333/.402/.623 slash line along with 23 hits, five doubles, five home runs and 31 RBIs. Robbie Armitage is tied for the team-lead with five home runs and second with 22 RBIs. As a team, Marist is hitting .306. The pitching staff has combined for a 3.50 ERA, led by reliever Conor McNamara's 0.63 ERA with one earned run allowed in 14.1 innings. Ryan Cardona has the lowest ERA among starters at 2.33 despite an 0-2 record. He has 24 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.
All-Time vs. Marist
Quinnipiac is 7-9 all-time against Marist, including 6-7 since joining the MAAC in the 2015 season. This is the first meeting between the two teams since the 2018 season. Marist won the final two games of that series, snapping Quinnipiac's four-game winning streak after sweeping the 2017 series in Hamden.

The Bobcats will honor the six members of the Class of 2021 on Friday before first pitch of game one and the eight members of the Class of 2020 before game two. Quinnipiac's seniors this season are Colton Bender, Arthur Correira, Robert Lewis, Connor Mahoney, Ian Ostberg and Joe Preciado.
