FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer earned a double-overtime victory in its first contest of the 2021 spring season, edging Fairfield 1-0 on the road at Lessing Field.

Alex Holle scored in the 108^th minute on a feed from Brage Aasen – sending Quinnipiac back to Hamden with the win. The goal is Holle's second career score.

Holle, a junior, now has two career goals. He also scored once during his first year with the Bobcats in 2018.
Brage Aasen's assist is his 7^th career helper. He recorded six assists during 17 games as a first-year player in 2019.
Fouls were even 16-16, and both the Bobcats and the Stags earned six corner chances.
Goalkeeper Jared Mazzola made three saves in the shutout. He now has eight career clean sheets, earning four shutouts in 2018 and three in 2019.
The Bobcats defense allowed just three shots on net in front of Mazzola.
Quinnipiac recorded eight total shots, earning a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the Bobcats have now won three straight MAAC openers. Da Costa has 117 career wins in Hamden, leading the program to a 45-15-11 record in MAAC regular season games.
