NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Quinnipiac men's soccer battled to a road win at Merrimack on Wednesday night, clinching a MAAC Tournament berth with a 3-2 victory.

The Bobcats scored all three goals in the second half to earn the come-from-behind victory.

Luke Schierenbeck, Benjamin Telle, and Sivert Ryssdalsnes all scored for QU.

Schierenbeck tied the game 1-1 at 66:06, blasting a shot into the back of the net with his right foot for his third goal of the season.

Benjamin Telle broke the tie with his second goal of the season. Drew Seguro dribbled into the box and blasted a shot, then Telle cleaned up the deflection to give QU its first lead of the night.

Sivert Ryssdalsnes scored Quinnipiac's third and final goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 72^nd minute.

Merrimack would score just four minutes later to make it 3-2, but the Bobcats would hold on for the victory.

NOTES

Quinnipiac outshot Merrimack 18-15 in total. The Bobcats scored three goals on nine shots during the second half of play.
Luke Schierenbeck's strike is his third goal of the campaign. He scored twice against UMass on 8/28/25.
Benjamin Telle registered QU's second goal of the season to give QU its first lead. He also scored against New Haven on 9/23/25.
Sivert Ryssdalsnes registered his second game-winner of the season. He finished the regular season leading Quinnipiac with 20 points (8 goals, 4 assists).
Matthew Pisani made seven saves for the Bobcats. The graduate goalkeeper now has 34 stops over nine appearances in 2025.
The Bobcats have taken each of the two meetings against Merrimack since the Warriors joined the league. QU won 3-2 last season, then won again 3-2 tonight.

Quinnipiac will now advance to postseason play. The #6 Bobcats will head to #3 Iona for an opening round matchup in the MAAC Tournament, with game time set for 1:00 PM from New Rochelle.
