NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Quinnipiac men's soccer begins postseason play on Sunday afternoon, as the #6 Bobcats will travel to #3 Iona for the opening round of the 2025 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship.
Game time between Quinnipiac and Iona is set for 1:00 PM from New Rochelle (streamed on ESPN+).

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Quinnipiac men's soccer begins postseason play on Sunday afternoon, as the #6 Bobcats will travel to #3 Iona for the opening round of the 2025 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship.
Game time between Quinnipiac and Iona is set for 1:00 PM from New Rochelle (streamed on ESPN+).
BACK IN THE POSTSEASON
- Quinnipiac won three of its final four matchups in the regular season, earning a spot in the MAAC Tournament once again.
- The Bobcats have reached postseason play 12 times in the last 14 years (NEC in 2012, MAAC 2013-present).
- Since joining the MAAC prior to the 2013 season, Quinnipiac has appeared in five MAAC Tournament title contests (2013, 2016, 2018, spring 2021, 2023). Under Da Costa's tutelage, the Bobcats have posted an impressive 69-38-17 mark in regular season MAAC games. QU has reached the MAAC Tournament 11 times in 13 years since joining the league.
- Quinnipiac men's soccer battled to a road win at Merrimack on Wednesday night, clinching a MAAC Tournament berth with a 3-2 victory.
- The Bobcats scored all three goals in the second half to earn the come-from-behind victory.
- Luke Schierenbeck, Benjamin Telle, and Sivert Ryssdalsnes all scored for QU.
- Quinnipiac outshot Merrimack 18-15 in total. The Bobcats scored three goals on nine shots during the second half of play.
- Quinnipiac and Iona did not face one another during the regular season in 2025.
- The Gaels have not lost since Oct. 11. Iona is 4-0-2 during that span.
- Iona has eight different scorers with multiple goals this season.
- The Gaels have scored 29 goals and recorded 30 assists this year, both of which rank tops in the league.
- QU is 1-3-1 against Iona over the last five meetings.
- Sivert Ryssdalsnes leads the way for QU with 18 points via 7 goals and 4 assists through the end of the regular season.
- William Holum has scored 4 times, with all 4 goals coming in MAAC action. Luke Schierenbeck has 3 goals.
- Andrew Monteserin, Alex Miller, Fredrik Moen and Benjamin Telle have all scored twice.
- Drew Seguro and Alex Miller serve as Quinnipiac's captains in 2025.
- Seguro, a graduate student, started all 17 games for the Bobcats this season. He recorded 3 assists during the regular season, 2 of which came during MAAC games.
- Miller, a senior, has 2 goals and 1 assist in 9 games. He scored the game-winner against Siena on 10/25/25 in Hamden.

- Da Costa has built a strong reputation for success at QU, leading the Bobcats to the postseason conference tournament in 12 of the last 14 seasons (2012 in the NEC, 2013 – present in the MAAC).
- The Bobcats have reached the MAAC title game five times under Da Costa, winning and advancing to the NCAA Tournament twice.
- The Bobcats return 18 players from a season ago, including seven of their ten top scorers.
- William Holum returns with the most points of any Bobcat from last year, scoring three goals and making three assists.
- Matt Pisani and Drew Seguro each return for their fifth season in Hamden.
- Seguro and Alex Miller were named captains this past spring, combined they have played in 77 games.
- The Bobcats welcome ten newcomers to Hamden before the start of the 2025 season.
- The group includes two transfers and eight first years. Taiga Matoba (Perth, Aus.) played at Monroe University and Flavio Di Palma (Sabaudia, Italy) joins QU after playing at Governors State.
- Quinnipiac's eight first years include, Erik Willke (Tromsø, Norway), Didac Glories (Valencia, Spain), Mateo Balbino (Ludlow, Mass.), Taehyeon Lim (Montreal, QC, Can.), Aleks Swider (Harwinton, Conn.), Sindri Sigurjonsson (Mosfellsbaer, Iceland), Remy Barone (Toronto, Ont, Can.), Sixten Karlsson (Stockholm, Sweden).
