Morris Records Ninth Double Double in Loss
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Quinnipiac sophomore Mikala Morris followed up a 23-rebound effort with a 23-point outing the regular-season finale, but it was not enough to prevent Niagara from earning its first victory, 78-69, over Quinnipiac in 17 all-time tries.
Morris recorded her ninth double-double of the season in the loss, pulling down 12 rebounds in addition to a stellar 10-12 shooting night. Mackenzie DeWees scored in double figures (11) for the 15th time in 20 games this season.
Angel Parker led the way for Niagara with 23 points, joining teammates Ally Haar and Sydney Faulcon with double figures in the win.

- Niagara opened the game with a strong offensive outburst as the hosts made 12 of their first 17 shots to leap out to a 16-point lead after the game's first eight minutes.
- Morris scored three-consecutive baskets to spark a 9-4 run to close the quarter and pull the Bobcats within 11, 28-17.
- The Bobcats forced seven Niagara turnovers in the second quarter and pulled within as close as six points with 3:21 to play until halftime.
- The Purple Eagles recorded a quick 7-2 run to restore their 11-point lead as the teams headed to the locker room.
- Niagara stretched its lead to 17 points in the third frame before Quinnipiac's comeback effort started at the 3:53 mark.
- Chiara Bacchini, Rose Caverly, and Sajada Bonner hit three-straight three-pointers in a 1:07 span to trim the deficit to six points with 2:46 to play until the fourth.
- The Bobcats held Niagara without a field goal for the final 5:11 of the third, cutting the lead to eight points through three quarters.
- Niagara opened the lead back 12 points in the fourth quarter and, despite Quinnipiac pulling within six in the final seconds, was able to close the game out at the free throw line.
- The Bobcats were out-rebounded by the Purple Eagles, 38-33.
- Quinnipiac shot just 8-13 from the free throw line, while Niagara converted on 17 of 20 attempts.
- QU knocked down a season-high nine three pointers in the loss.
- Niagara earned a large advantage in second-chance points, outscoring the Bobcats 21-9 in this category.
- Barring any league schedule changes next week, the Bobcats have completed the regular season and will be off until Wednesday, March 10 when they open the MAAC Tournament in Atlantic City as a top-2 seed.
