Morris' 23 Rebounds Rank Fourth Most in Program History
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball kicked off their final weekend series of the season with a 71-57 victory over Niagara. Sophomore forward Mikala Morris grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds in the win.
Morris recorded her league leading eighth double-double of the season as she scored 10 points to go along with her career high rebounding effort. The Springfield, Ohio native is one of 57 players in the country with eight or more double-doubles. Her 23 rebounds is the fourth most in program history and the most for any Quinnipiac player since Monique Lee recorded 25 against Monmouth on March 5, 2005. Morris recorded the most rebounds of any MAAC player this season and is the fifth NCAA women's basketball player to record 23 or more rebounds in a game this season.
Junior guard Mackenzie DeWees scored a career-high 21 points in the victory. The Westminster, Md. native is the fourth player in the MAAC this season with three or more 20-point games.
Sophomore guard Sajada Bonner scored 11 points in the victory. The Clliffwood, N.J. native made all nine of her attempts from the free throw line in the game. She became the 12th player in Quinnipiac's Division I history to make nine or more in a game without a miss.

- Niagara scored the first five points of the game, but the Bobcats answered back with a 6-0 run to take an early one point lead.
