Women's Basketball Drops Home Finale to Siena
HAMDEN, Conn. – In the second meeting of the week between Siena and Quinnipiac, the visiting Saints outscored the Bobcats, 15-8, in the fourth quarter to take a 63-60 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Quinnipiac led by as many as seven points in the third quarter, but ultimately saw Siena finish the game on a 20-10 run to take the win.
Juniors Mackenzie DeWees and Rose Caverly both played over 30 minutes and scored 18 points each in the loss. DeWees added eight rebounds, while Caverly dished out five assists.
2019-20 MAAC All-Rookie team member Mikala Morris pulled down 15 rebounds alaong with seven points.

GAME SUMMARY
- The Saints opened the game with a quick three-pointer, but Caverly answered with two of her own to begin the first quarter.
- Quinnipiac scored the last bucket of the frame, but Siena took a seven-point lead into the game's first break.
- The Bobcats' defense narrowed the gap in the second quarter, as it held Siena without a point for three minutes leading into halftime, but Isis Young hit a three pointer just before the buzzer extend Siena's lead to 36-31.
- Trailing 41-33 with 8:25 left in the third quarter, Quinnipiac rattled off a 15-0 run over the next 5:09 to take a 48-41 lead.
- Young knocked down a three-pointer to open the fourth and pull Siena within one.
- The teams traded baskets through the next few minutes of the fourth quarter leading to a Caverly jumper with 3:22 left that gave Quinnipiac a 60-57 lead.
- Siena held the Bobcats scoreless for the remainder of regulation and won the game with four points from young and a Rayshel Brown layup in the final minute.
- The Bobcats converted 12 times from the free-throw line, compared to 10 for Siena.
- The Bobcats out-rebounded the Saints, 35-26.
- Both teams had 17 turnovers and 11 assists.
- The Saints outscored the Bobcats by two in the paint, 24-22.
- The Bobcats are set to play the Niagara Purple Eagles on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27. The games will take place at the Gallagher Center and can be streamed on ESPN+/ESPN3.
