10 Bobcats Score in the Victory

HAMDEN, Conn. – Ten Bobcats recorded points as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team defeated Siena, 84-63, on Wednesday afternoon in Hamden.

Sophomore forward Mikala Morris recorded her seventh double-double of the season, as she recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes of action. The Springfield, Ohio native also tallied four blocks and two steals in the victory.

Junior guard Mackenzie DeWees recorded her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Westminster, Md. native dished out six assists and recorded three steals.

First-year guard Jillian Casey scored a career-high 11 points in the win. The Horseheads, N.Y. native shot 2-of-3 from behind the arc and made all three of her free throw attempts.

GAME SUMMARY:

Both teams traded buckets throughout the first quarter, leading to an 18-all deadlock at the end of the frame.
The teams played a tight second quarter through the beginning portions of the frame, but Quinnipiac gained a seven point advantage, 34-27, with just over two minutes remaining in the quarter.
Siena closed out the half on a 9-1 run to take a 36-35 lead at the end of two quarters.
The teams were only separated by one possession through the first eight minutes of the quarter.
The Bobcats went on a 9-0 run over the final two minutes of the quarter to take a 62-54 lead through three quarters.
Quinnipiac went on a 15-2 run that last just over five minutes in the fourth quarter. That run gave the Bobcats an 82-58 lead with just over a minute remaining in the game.
Overall, the Bobcats outscored Siena, 22-9 in the final frame to close out the big victory.

NUMBERS AND NOTES:

The Bobcats outrebounded the Saints, 44-27, including an 18-8 edge on the offensive glass.
Quinnipiac tallied 26 assists in the win, the most it has recorded in a game this season.
The Bobcats forced 17 turnovers, turning those into 20 points.
Quinnipiac has now won eight of their last nine games, pushing their record to 12-5 and 10-3 in the conference.
The Bobcats shot just over 50 percent from the field (34-of-67), which is the best they have shot from the floor this season. They also recorded a season high three-point percentage shooting 50 percent (7-of-14).
