14-3 Third Quarter Run Extends Quinnipiac's Win-Streak to Two
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior Mackenzie DeWees registered 20 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists to lead the Quinnipiac women's basketball team to its second consecutive win with a 75-56 victory over Army Thursday evening inside of Christl Arena.
Junior forward Mikala Morris added 17 points and five rebounds, while Amani Free and Makenzie Helms added nine points apiece.

- The Bobcats used the opening 5:30 of the contest to jump out to a 17-10 lead behind eight points from Mikala Morris
- After Army cut the Quinnipiac lead to 17-15, the Bobcats used the final 3:21 of the period to outscore the Black Knights 9-2 to carry a 26-17 lead into the second quarter
- The Black Knights were able to cut the Bobcats lead to seven before Quinnipiac countered with an 8-2 run to extend the lead to 13, its largest of the first half
- The run was capped by back-to-back threes from Sajada Bonner and Rose Caverly
- However, Army used the final 4:40 of the first half to outscore Quinnipiac 7-2, trimming the Bobcats' lead to 40-32 entering the break
- With Quinnipiac holding a six-point lead midway through the third quarter, the Bobcats closed the period with a 14-3 run to carry a 62-45 lead into the fourth
- The Bobcats went 5-for-9 during the run, with five different players scoring points
- Quinnipiac opened the fourth quarter with a 7-1 run, its lead to 23 points, its largest of the game
- The lead proved to be too much for the Black Knights, as the Bobcats cruised to a 75-56 victory
- The win marked Quinnipiac's second in a row
- It also marked Quinnipiac's third game in a row where it reached the 70-point threshold
- The Bobcats tallied 15 steals in the win, marking the first time they recorded 15 or more steals in a game since registering 17 thefts against Fairfield on Feb. 17, 2019
- DeWees tallied team-highs of 20 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists
- DeWees has tallied five or more steals in all three of Quinnipiac's contests to open the season
- Caverly nabbed a career-high five steals in the victory
- Amani Free and Morris combined to score 17 of Quinnipiac's 26 points in the first quarter
- Makenzie Helms contributed nine points to go along with career-highs of five rebounds and two steals.
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday. Nov. 20, when they play host to No. 4 Indiana in the home-opener
