Pecknold Announces Addition of Perets to Roster

Men's Ice Hockey Bring in Goaltender Yaniv Perets for Second Semester
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold has announced the addition of Yaniv Perets to the program from the 2020-21 season for the second semester.
Perets, a native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, comes to Quinnipiac via the Penticton Vees from the BCHL. He will wear No. 1 for the Bobcats.
Perets played 10 games for the Vees in the BCHL's 2020-21 Training Season before it was put on pause due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. He was 9-1-0 with a 1.80 GAA and .931 save percentage along with two shutouts. He was tied for first in the league in shutouts, ranked second in wins and was fourth in GAA and save percentage and guided the team to the BCHL's Okanagan Cup.
In his first regular season with Penticton, Perets was just as dominant as he went 25-8-1-0 in 37 games with five shutouts as well as a 2.19 GAA and .918 save percentage. Perets was second in the BCHL in shutouts, third in GAA, fifth in wins and sixth in save percentage. He was even better in the postseason before it was put on pause due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, going 4-0-1-0 with a 1.96 GAA and .921 save percentage.
Before heading out west, Perets played two seasons with the Boston Jr. Bruins of the NCDC where he was dominant between the pipes in both seasons.
In his rookie season with the Bruins in 2017-18, Perets was second in the league with a .930 save percentage and posted a 2.48 to go with a 17-6-1 record and two shutouts. Perets was just as stellar in his season, going 23-10-1 with a 2.48 GAA and .929 save percentage and led the Bruins to the NCDC Championship and Goalie of the Year honors.
Perets also spent parts of two seasons with the Brockville Braves of the CCHL following three seasons in the Lac St-Louis Lions organization in the QBAAA and QMAAA where his teams were U-14 Quebec Champions, U-15 Quebec Youth Olympic Champions, Midget AAA Champions and Bronze Medalists at the Telus Cup.
The No. 10/10 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team returns to the ice this weekend as they hit the road for their first full road weekend of the season as the Bobcats will take on the No. 14/14 Clarkson Golden Knights in a three-game series. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. at Cheel Arena Friday night and 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the U.S. and internationally on Stretch Internet.
