Toews Records Points in Four Straight Games, Will Face Cashman's Capitals
NHL FIRST ROUND SCHEDULE
HAMDEN, Conn. – Following qualifying round and round robin action, four Quinnipiac men's ice hockey alumni remain in action in the first round of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Devon Toews '17 and the New York Islanders went 3-1 to win their best-of-five game series against the Florida Panthers and advance to the first round. Toews was one of the top performers for the Islanders as he recorded points in four consecutive games with four assists.
Toews finished the 2019-20 regular season with career-highs of six goals, 22 assists and 28 points before starting the 2020 postseason with assists in four straight games in the qualifying round in the Eastern Conference bubble at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
Reid Cashman '07, an assistant coach with the Capitals, guided Washington to a 1-1-1 record in the round robin and earned the No. 3 seed where he and the Capitals will take on Toews' Islanders in the first round.

Connor Clifton '17 played in the final round robin game for the Boston Bruins as they went 0-3 and picked up the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. Clifton had two shots on goal and played a total of 15:39 in a 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Brogan Rafferty '20 and the Vancouver Canucks advanced to the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Minnesota Wild, 3-1. Rafferty did not see any action but continues to practice with the Canucks.
