Loss Halts Quinnipiac's Four-Game Win Streak
HAMDEN, Conn. – Sophomore Mackenzie DeWees recorded her first career double-double, but the Quinnipiac women's basketball team dropped Saturday's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest to Siena. The Saints used a 20-13 fourth quarter to take the 68-60 victory at the People's United Center.
Taylor Herd and Shaq Edwards both scored in double figures for the Bobcats in the loss.

- Six different Bobcats scored in the first quarter, as the hosts opened up as large as a five-point lead during the frame.
- Sabrina Piper and Rayshel Brown combined to score nine points for the Saints, who trailed by four at the end of the period.
- Quinnipiac led by as many as nine points in the second quarter, including a 34-25 lead with 53 seconds to play before halftime. It was then that Siena scored five straight points to cut the Bobcats lead to four points as the teams headed to the locker room.
- Siena pulled within a point with a three-pointer on the opening possession of the third quarter and once again lowered the deficit to one with 6:32 left in the frame.
- Edwards knocked down two three-pointers in a row to extend the Quinnipiac lead to seven at the midway point of the quarter before Siena closed the quarter on a 10-2 run and took a 48-47 lead into the fourth.
- Both teams went on quick runs to start the fourth quarter, as the Bobcats scored five straight to take a one-point lead but Siena followed with a 9-1 run to take a 60-53 lead with 4:05 remaining.
- The Bobcats cut the lead to three on two separate occasions, but went scoreless for the final 46 seconds of the game and allowed Siena to make five free throws to end the game.
- DeWees' first double-double included 14 points and 10 rebounds, along with three steals and three assists.
- Paige Warfel continued to control the boards for Quinnipiac as the senior pulled down 12 rebounds in the loss.
- The Bobcats earned the rebounding edge, 43-40, including 14 offensive rebounds.
- Quinnipiac had 17 assists on 22 baskets, while Siena only had nine on 26 makes.
- The Bobcats hit the road on Thursday to take on the Manhattan Jaspers at Draddy Gymnasium in New York.
