DeWees Records Double-Double in Loss
RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Despite another double-double from Mackenzie DeWees and a three-point halftime lead, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team was defeated by Manhattan, 77-62, at Draddy Gymnasium on Thursday evening.
DeWees recorded her second-straight double-double with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in the loss. Shaq Edwards led all Quinnipiac players with 16 points on the night and dished out five assists.

- Sajada Bonner hit back-to-back buckets in the first quarter to give the Bobcats an early 10-8 lead after eight minutes.
- Manhattan answered with a 6-0 run to close the quarter with a 14-10 edge.
- The Bobcats' best run of the game came at the start of the second quarter when the team scored 10 unanswered points to take a 21-14 lead, Quinnipiac's biggest of the game at that point.
- The lead grew to nine at the midway point of the quarter after a DeWees jumper made it 27-18, but Manhattan finished strong and again ended the quarter on a run. The second quarter run was 11-5 and cut the Quinnipiac lead to just three points at the break.
- Manhattan took the game over in the third quarter, opening the period on a 12-2 run and jumping out to a 41-34 lead in the first four minutes.
- After a quick 5-0 Quinnipiac spurt, the Jaspers rattled off 13 of the next 15 points and opened up a commanding 13-point edge.
- The Bobcats scored six points to end the frame, but Manhattan started the fourth with eight points in a row and regained a 15-point lead.
- Quinnipiac got as close as eight points with 3:42 to play, but Manhattan made seven free throws down the stretch to close out the 77-62 win.
- DeWees led the Bobcats in rebounding for the fourth time this season.
- Edwards' 16 points was her 16th game this season with at least 10 points.
- Warfel pulled down 11 rebounds for her 13th 10+ rebound game of the year.
- The Bobcats out-rebounded the Jaspers by a 41-29 margin in the game.
- The Bobcats return home for Senior Day on Saturday as the Niagara Purple Eagles make the trip to the People's United Center. Pregame ceremonies will begin at approximately 1:40 p.m. and the game will tip off at 2:00 p.m.
