Warfel Leads Way With 15 PTS, 10 REB

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's basketball dropped a MAAC contest vs. Rider, 68-62, on Thursday evening at the People's United Center in Hamden.

Paige Warfel led the Bobcats with 15 points and 10 rebounds, her seventh double-double of the season. Mikala Morris added 12 points and six rebounds, and Jaden Ward recorded 12 points.

GAME SUMMARY

Rider led for the entirety of the first quarter, but never by more than four points, as the quarter ended with a 16-15 Broncs edge.
Jumpers by Morris and DeWees in the opening possessions of the second gave the Bobcats a one-point lead, but Stella Johnson scored nine points in the quarter to assure Rider of a halftime lead.
Down by 12, the Bobcats rattled off eight points in a row and trailed 47-40 with 1:35 remaining in the quarter., but Amari Johhnson hit a triple with 1:34 on the clock for what would be Rider's last field goal for almost seven minutes of game time.
The Bobcats went on a 17-5 run to even the game at 52 apiece with less than four minutes to play.
Despite tying the game, Quinnipiac proceeded to score just 10 points in the final 6:30 of regulation which allowed Rider to close things out.

NUMBERS AND NOTES

It was the first time since February 6, 2010 that the Bobcats ended the game without a made three-pointer.
Rider's Stella Johnson scored her 2,000th career point with her first three-pointer of the game.
The Bobcats dominated the glass once again, out-rebounding Rider by a 43-35 on the evening.
