Haywood and Morris Combine for 37 Points in Win
HAMDEN, Conn.– First year Cur'Tiera Haywood led all Quinnipiac scorers with a career-high 19 points in Saturday's 74-71 win over Canisius. Mikala Morris and Mackenzie DeWees also scored in double figures for the Bobcats, who improved to 4-2 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Morris recorded a career-high with 18 points, while adding six rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. DeWees continued her tremendous start to MAAC play with 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

- Teams traded the lead four times in the first quarter as both sides came out firing on the offensive end.
- Canisius shot 50 percent from the floor in the quarter, while the Bobcats went 9-21 (42.9 percent). The teams combined for seven three-pointers in the frame.
- The Golden Griffins used the last 4:18 of the half to gain some separation before the halftime break. A triple by D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks sparked a 12-6 Canisius run that gave them a 48-39 halftime lead.
- The third quarter belonged to Haywood, who scored nine points in the period while Canisius only tallied six as a team.
- Haywood knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the quarter and helped the Bobcats to pull within two points at the final intermission.
- Another Haywood triple gave the Bobcats the lead on the first possession of the fourth quarter as the first year wrapped up a personal 7-0 run.
- The fourth quarter featured 11 lead changes, with no team leading by more than two points until the 2:21 mark of the period.
- Morris' layup with 2:21 left gave the Bobcats a 70-66 lead, their largest of the game.
- AJ Timbers knocked down a three with 21 seconds left to cut the margin to two, but Shaq Edwards made three free throws in the final seconds to wrap up the win.
- The win is Quinnipiac's 60th victory since November 22, 2017 (60-18 since then).
- The Bobcats improved to 52-2 in MAAC home games since 2014-15 with the win.
- Quinnipiac is 15-0 in the all-time series against Canisius. The Golden Griffins are one of four MAAC teams without a win over the Bobcats.
- Edwards scored in double figures for the 11th time in 12 games this season.
- The Bobcats committed just 10 turnovers in the contest, while forcing 19.
- Quinnipiac improves to 167-16 since 2007-08 in games where its scores at least 70 points.
- Morris also recorded three blocks for the third time this season.
