Bobcats welcome Hawks to Hamden for 1 PM kickoff
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team will host the Hartford Hawks on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. The Bobcats return home after two road games at Loyola Maryland and Harvard.

GAME NOTES
Last Time Out:
Quinnipiac traveled to Cambridge, Mass., to take on the Harvard Crimson on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The Bobcats fell to the Crimson, 3-0, and recorded the first lost of the season.
Scouting the Hawks:
Hartford will come to Hamden with a 2-2-1 overall record after losing to Sacred Heart, 3-2, in double overtime. The Hawks opened the season with two wins but have lost and tied the last three games. Maia Perez leads the Hawks in the net, playing in every game with a 0.92 goals against average and 17 saves. On offensive, Kaila Lozada has recorded four points on two game-winning goals against Manhattan and Merrimack.
History vs Hartford:
The Bobcats are 1-1 against the Hawks with the last matchup happening back on Sept. 9, 2012 when Quinnipiac won 1-0.
Phillips in the Net:
Freshman Meaghan Phillips has had a strong showing in goal as the Bobcats' keeper through the first four games. She has tallied two shutouts, with 14 saves and a 1.00 GAA.
Scott Earns MAAC Rookie of the Week:
Freshman Olivia Scott was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week after her four-point game against Loyola Maryland. She assisted on two goals and scored one of her own in Quinnipiac's 3-1 win against Loyola.
New Season, New Team:
Quinnipiac welcomes 11 newcomers to the squad, with five players coming from Ontario, four coming from New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois, one from England and one from the Netherlands. Seventeen players will return from the 2018 roster, including Selena Salas, who received All-MAAC honors at the end of the season.
2019 MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll:
The Monmouth Hawks were selected to finish first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll, followed by Quinnipiac in second. Siena, Marist, Rider, Niagara, Fairfield, Manhattan, Canisius, Iona and Saint Peter's completed the preseason poll.Quinnipiac's Selena Salaswas voted to the Preseason All-MAAC team. Monmouth's Madie Gibson was named the Preseason Player of the Year.
