Bobcats hold Hawks to just six shots in third shutout of the season
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team recorded its fourth win of the season in a 2-0 shutout against the Hartford Hawks. Freshman Meaghan Phillips tallied her third shutout of the season, and sophomore Gretchen Kron and senior Kylie Lance both scored for the Bobcats.

SCORING SUMMARY
First Half
- (35' – Quinnipiac 1, Hartford 0): Freshman Kayla Mingachos won the ball back for the Bobcats in the right back position and tapped a 10-yard ball to lead senior Ally Grunstein, who was making a run down to the right corner. Grunstein took two touches to the end line and sent a driven ball to the front post. Sophomore Gretchen Kron chested the ball into the back of the net to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
- (59' - Quinnipiac 2, Hartford 0): Kelsey Goldring took a free kick from approximately 35 yards out on the left side and sent it to the back-right post. Freshman Olivia Scott headed the ball in the air, and senior Kylie Lance headed again a second time past Hartford's keeper, Maia Perez.
- Kron netted her second goal and second game-winner for the Bobcats this season.
- Lance recorded her first goal of the season and fourth of her career.
- The 2-0 win was Phillip's third shutout of the season. She is one shutout away from matching Jill Kelley's freshman campaign of four shutouts.
- This is the best start for the Bobcats since 2012 when the team went 4-0-1.
- Quinnipiac tallied 16 shots, which is a new season-high.
