Huscher, Scafariello Each Homer But Blue Devils Overcome Late Deficit
Huscher joined Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts) and Gianni Arici (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) as the Bobcats three-hit players as the Bobcats pounded out 13 hits in the losing effort.
Quinnipiac scored nine runs in a game for the fourth time this season, while seven of the Bobcats 13 hits went for extra bases.

FOURTH INNING
- Huscher belted a home run to lead off the fourth inning for his first homer of the season
- Colton Bender (Lebanon, Connecticut) was hit by a pitch, Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts) walked and Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut) singled to load the bases. With one out in the inning, Michael Kohn (Rockville, Maryland) reached on an error by the centerfielder that scored Cruz and Bender before Moskey came around to score on a Gianni Arici (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) RBI single to pull the Bobcats within a run
- Huscher led off the top of the inning with a single and was quickly brought home to tie the game on an RBI double from Bender.
- Cruz followed up Bender's double with one of his own, scoring Bender to give the Bobcats a 6-5 lead
- The Blue Devils regained the lead in the sixth and seventh with three runs before the Bobcats took a lead in the top of the seventh inning.
- Huscher led off with a single through the left side and moved up to third on a double to left field
- After the Blue Devils changed pitchers, Moskey lifted a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Huscher
- Scafariello followed up Moskey with his fourth home run of the season to take a 9-8 lead
- Marrero extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a double in the second inning and now has 30 hits on the season
- Huscher hit his first home run of the season and second of his career with a blast on Wednesday
- His three-hit game was his sixth multi-hit game of the season while he scored three runs in a game for the second time.
- Cruz was a perfect 3 for 3 on Wednesday with three doubles, his first career three-double game while he also scored two runs in a game for the third time this season
- He now has hits in six of his last seven games
- Scafariello went deep for a second time in the past four games as he ripped a two-run home run for his fourth of the season, and he now has 14 RBIs
- Arici recorded his first career three-hit game as he was 3 for 3 with a trio of singles in his first career start and now has five hits on the season
- The Bobcats return to action with a three-game series back in Hamden this weekend as the Quinnipiac hosts Canisius (11-16, 5-1 MAAC) in a matchup of the MAAC's top two teams.
- First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is set for 12 p.m. followed by first pitch on Sunday at 12 p.m. for a single game.
