HAMDEN, Conn. – After a month off from competition, the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team is back in action for its final two games of the 2019 calendar year as the Bobcats take on ECAC Hockey travel partner Princeton in a home-and-home series beginning Saturday night at Princeton.
Last Time Out
The Bobcats ended the first half of the season on a high note as they split a home-and-home series with then-No. 10/10 UMass. Quinnipiac fell at home to the Minutemen, 3-0, before bouncing back with a 2-1 victory on the road in Amherst, Massachusetts, for the Bobcats first win over a ranked opponent this season.
Scouting Princeton
The Tigers have struggled for much of the 2019-20 season so far, skating to a record of 2-8-3 and are still in search of their first ECAC Hockey win at 0-4-2. Princeton did pick up a win in its final game before the holiday break, a 2-1 victory over AIC after Jackson Cressey's game-winning goal early in the third period. Prior to that win, Princeton had been winless in 11 straight games after winning the opening game of the season at St. Cloud State. The win also snapped a five-game losing streak for the Tigers, with the final two losses coming at home as they were swept by Colorado College to open December. Sophomore Corey Andonovski leads Princeton with six goals and is tied with Jackson Cressey with 11 points, while Cressey leads the team with seven assists. Andonovski also leads the team with three power-play goals. All three goaltenders for the Princeton have seen time this season with Ryan Ferland making the bulk of the starts. He is 1-5-2 with a 3.12 GAA and .889 save percentage but Jeremie Forget has made the past two starts, posting a 1.98 GAA and .931 save percentage as he earned his first win of the season.
All-Time vs. Princeton
Quinnipiac owns the all-time series with Princeton, posting a 17-12-1 record over 30 all-time meetings. The Bobcats have been particularly good in Princeton, New Jersey, owning a 10-4-1 record and are 7-8-0 back home in Hamden against the Tigers. Quinnipiac's series sweep last season brought the Bobcats to 3-3-0 in the last six matchups and are now 12-4-0 against the Tigers since the start of the 2011-12 season.
Rand's Winning Ways
Head coach Rand Pecknold continues to approach milestone wins in his career. In addition to having 518 wins to rank 13th all-time among Division I Men's Hockey coaches, he is just 9 wins from passing former men's and women's tennis head coach Mike Quitko for the most wins by a coach in Quinnipiac Athletics history. Pecknold and Quitko are the only two Quinnipiac coaches to record 500 wins with Quinnipiac programs.
A True Honour
Peter DiLiberatore became the first Bobcat to attend Hockey Canada's National Junior Team Selection camp with his invite to the camp from Dec. 9-12. He picked up an assist in one of the exhibition games for Canada and made it to the final round of cuts.

Petruzzelli's 1.52 GAA ranks third in ECAC Hockey in that span and his .938 save percentage is fifth. On the season, Petruzzelli is fourth in ECAC Hockey with a 2.30 GAA to go with a .910 save percentage. He also is tied for third with 325 saves, averaging 21.67 saves per game.

A Knack for Scoring

Jermain's tally also set a career-high for the Bobcats' captain, who had recorded five goals in each of the past two seasons.
Keepin' It Karlis
