Defense dominates again in 35th Consecutive MAAC Victory
HAMDEN, Conn. – On a day where Paula Strautmane scored the 1,000th point of her illustrious career, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team tied the all-time record for consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victories (35) by defeating Monmouth, 67-38, at the People's United Center.
The victory ties the Bobcats with Marist's all-time record for conference wins in the regular season and playoffs.

- For the fourth time this season, the Quinnipiac defense held an opponent to four points in a quarter when the Bobcats outscored Monmouth, 13-4, in the opening frame.
- The hosts offensive prowess was on display in the second quarter, as the Bobcats tallied 22 points on 7-14 shooting. Six of Quinnipiac's seven field goals in the period were of the three-point variety.
- The final two quarters were fairly back-and-forth, with neither side able to put together any significant runs. The Bobcats extended their lead to as many as 31 points before Lucy Thomas' layup at the buzzer closed the book at a final deficit of 29.
- Strautmane becomes the 24th player in program history and 15th at the Division I level to reach the 1,000-point plateau. She joins teammates Jen Fay and Aryn McClure as the only trio of classmates in program history to achieve the milestone.
- Taylor Herd scored 16 points to lead all scorers. She tallied 16+ points for the third time in her last four games, knocking down at least four three-pointers in all three contests.
- Edel Thornton posted a season-high 12 points from the point guard position, adding four rebounds, three assists, and two steals to an efficient day.
- Brittany Martin tallied 11 points, marking the third straight double-digit game for the senior. It is the first time in her career that she has posted multiple double-digit games in a row.
- Fabbri and the Quinnipiac program celebrated a large group of returning alumnae and their families with an on-court recognition at halftime. 32 former Bobcats (and Braves) and their families returned to Hamden to celebrate the history and pride that comes with being a Bobcat.
