
Scoring Outburst Sends Men's Soccer Past Canisius in MAAC Opener

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Paulo Soares (Quincy, Mass.), Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, CT), Matthew Taylor (Dublin, Ireland) and Eamon Whelan (New Fairfield, CT) all recorded a goal and an assist on Wednesday, leading Quinnipiac men's soccer past Canisius, 3-1, in the Bobcats' first MAAC contest of the 2018 season.

- Goalkeeper Jared Mazzola (Katonah, NY) made five total stops in net, earning his third win so far this year. Mazzola made a diving save to his right on a Canisius penalty kick with just over 30 minutes remaining, keeping the Bobcats' lead at one goal at the time.
- Quinnipiac recorded a team-high 19 shots in the victory, and attempted six corners. The Bobcats attempted more than 19 total shots just twice in 2017.
- Quinnipiac returns to action next Wednesday, traveling to Saint Peter's for another MAAC contest (2:00 p.m.)
