Jersey City, N.J. - Quinnipiac men's soccer is set for its second MAAC contest of the season on Wednesday, traveling to Saint Peter's for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
LAST TIME OUT
- Quinnipiac earned a 4-1 victory over Canisius last Wednesday in its 2018 MAAC opener, scoring a season-high four goals.
- Paulo Soares (Quincy, Mass.), Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, CT), Matthew Taylor (Dublin, Ireland) and Eamon Whelan (New Fairfield, CT) all recorded a goal and an assist in the win, helping the Bobcats move to 1-0-0 in MAAC action.
- The last time the Bobcats scored four goals in a game came in the 2017 regular-season finale vs. Saint Peter's (Nov. 1).
- Goalkeeper Jared Mazzola (Katonah, NY) made five total stops in net, earning his third win so far this year. Mazzola made a diving save to his right on a Canisius penalty kick with just over 30 minutes remaining, keeping the Bobcats' lead at one goal, at the time.
- Quinnipiac recorded a team-high 19 shots in the victory, and attempted six corners. The Bobcats attempted more than 19 total shots just twice in 2017.
- The Peacocks are 4-5-1 so far this season and are 1-1-0 in conference play in 2018. They scored a 1-0 win against Manhattan during their last time on the pitch and fell to Marist, 2-0, in the their MAAC opener.
- Quinnipiac defeated Saint Peter's, 4-1, in 2017 as Rashawn Dally netted a hat trick for the Bobcats.
- Quinnipiac head coach Eric Da Costa enters his 14th season at the helm of the Bobcats' men's soccer program in 2018, becoming the longest tenured men's soccer coach in Quinnipiac's NCAA history.
- With the win last Wednesday, Da Costa scored his 100th career victory as the Bobcats' head coach.
- Eamon Whelan (New Fairfield, Conn.) has scored five goals in Quinnipiac's first seven contests, tied for the most of any MAAC player so far this year. The junior now has 18 goals in two-plus years with the program.

- Eamon Whelan – MAAC Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 3, 2018)
- Oriac Vila Rotxes – MAAC Rookie of the Week (Sept. 17, 2018)
- Junior Conor McCoy (Newry, Northern Ireland) was named to the 2018 Preseason All-MAAC Team, the conference announced on Aug. 14.
- The Bobcats were picked to finish fourth by the league's head coaches.
- Quinnipiac head coach Eric Da Costa named the program's leadership council for the 2018, which includes senior Derek Parker, senior Matthew Taylor (Dublin, Ireland), junior Conor McCoy (Newry, Northern Ireland), sophomore Paulo Soares (Quincy, MA), and sophomore Simon Hillinger (Ditzingen, Germany).
- Quinnipiac went 8-9-2 (6-2-0 MAAC) in 2017, earning the No. 5 seed in the 2017 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship.
- The Bobcats defeated No. 4 Manhattan in the MAAC Tournament quarterfinals, then fell in penalty kicks at No. 1 Fairfield in the semifinal round.
- The program returns three student-athletes that earned All-MAAC honors in 2017. Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Conor McCoy (Newry, Northern Ireland) were named to the All-MAAC Second Team, and freshman Paulo Soares (Quincy, MA) was named to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.
