HAMDEN, Connecticut - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team looks to get back into the win column on Wednesday evening as the Bobcats host the Seton Hall Pirates in a 5:00 PM contest at the Quinnipiac Soccer Stadium.
GAME NOTES:
LAST TIME OUT
The Bobcats traveled Hanover, New Hampshire to visit the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday, August 24. Dartmouth scored twice in the first half, including a corner kick off of an intentional hand ball in the box and defeated the Bobcats, 2-0.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Seton Hall enters the game with a 1-2-1 record after falling, 1-0, to Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon. Quinnipiac will be the third MAAC opponent on the Pirates' schedule thus far, as they drew with Rider in the preseason and lost, 1-0, to Siena in their season opener. Coming off a tough year last year, (0-12-5), Head Coach Rick Stainton has brought in ten freshmen for the 2018-19 season.
TWO FOR TRIGS
Sophomore Lauren Triglione (West Newbury, Massachusetts) scored a goal in both of Quinnipiac's first two games this season. She also assisted on Gretchen Kron's (Hebron, Connecticut) first career goal in the win at Bryant. Her five points so far this season come after playing five games last year without recording a point.
NO-LIVIA
Junior goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski (Elm Grove, Wisconsin) posted the ninth clean sheet of her career in last week's win over Bryant. She is three clean sheets away from the top five in Bobcats program history.
LENDING A HELPING HAND
With returning players accounting for 2.79 assists per game from last season, the Bobcats rank fourth in all Division I women's soccer in returning assists per game in 2018. The Bobcats had an assist on all three goals against Bryant, including a rare two-assist goal when Selena Salas (Elche-Alicante, Spain) and Madison Borowiec (Windsor, Connecticut).
PUTTING OPPONENTS IN A CORNER
Through three games in 2018, the Bobcats have outearned their opponents, 14-11, on corner kick opportunities.
START FROM THE TOP
Quinnipiac has won at least two of its first three games in all seasons from 2015-2017. A win at Dartmouth will run the streak to four seasons in a row.
