GAME NOTES
- Quinnipiac completed the season sweep of Marist after winning the first game 80-79 in overtime on Jan. 10 at Quinnipiac. The Bobcats have completed two season sweeps this week after also winning their second game of the year against Siena on Sunday.
- The Bobcats led by as many as nine in the second half, but the Red Foxes closed to within two with 26 seconds left on two foul shots from Brian Parker.
- Marist nearly forced a steal in the backcourt, saving the ball back into play, but senior guard Cameron Young (Los Angeles, Calif.) came up with the big loose ball and made two foul shots.
- Quinnipiac forced a turnover on Marist's next possession, with freshman forward Jacob Rigoni (Adelaide, Australia) coming up with the steal. Marist was then called for a technical foul and Rigoni hit four foul shots to seal it.
- The game swung with an 18-2 run from Quinnipiac spanning both halves. After trailing 39-33 at the break, the Bobcats started the second half with a 15-2 run, taking a 48-41 lead on two Young foul shots.
- The second half run started with back-to-back three-pointers from senior guard Isaiah Washington (Williamsport, Pa.) to tie the score 39-39. Kelly then put the Bobcats ahead 44-41 with one of his five three-pointers.
- After the Bobcats went ahead 48-41, Marist scored seven straight points to tie it, but senior forward Chaise Daniels (Meriden, Conn.) gave the Bobcats the lead for good with a jump hook and Kelly followed with a three-pointer.
- Junior guard Andrew Robinson (Takoma Park, Md.) hit back to back threes to put the Bobcats ahead by nine at 59-50.
- Marist took its largest lead of the first half at 39-30 with just over a minute to go, but Kelly capped off the half with a three-point play on a fast break with one second left to bring the Bobcats within 39-33 at the break.
- Marist's Ryan Funk had 17 points in the first half after not playing in the first meeting with the Bobcats due to illness. He finished with a game-high 23.
- Quinnipiac made 14 three-pointers as a team, their second most of the season behind a 17 three-pointer evening at Columbia on Dec. 4.
