HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's basketball program and Head Coach Tom Pecora announced today (Tuesday, June 2, 2026) the signing of international prospect Nedas Cholevinskas.
Cholevinskas – a 6-foot-5 Lithuanian forward – will join the Bobcats for the 2026-27 campaign after playing in 31 contests last year for the Surrey 89ers out of Super League Basketball in England.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nedas to the Bobcat family," said Head Coach Tom Pecora. "He is a high-IQ player with a great shooting stroke and the length to defend multiple positions. Nedas comes to Hamden with a wealth of experience playing at a high level in England's Super League. His ability to stretch the floor at 6-foot-5 is a perfect fit for our offensive system, and we expect him to make an immediate impact."
He averaged 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest for the Surrey 89ers in 2025-26, shooting 39.7% from the floor and 36.5% from the 3-point line.
Cholevinskas reached double-digit point totals in 10 different contests, including a season-best performance of 26 points on 5/3/2026 during the final regular season game. He shot 5-of-8 from 3-point range and grabbed seven rebounds during the regular-season finale. He registered 10+ points in four of the last five games during the regular season.
He also represented the United Kingdom in the 2025 U20 European Championships, posting 6.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game over seven appearances. Cholevinskas scored 11 points to go along with seven rebounds during the United Kingdom's victory over Bulgaria on 7/11/2025.
He is the seventh addition to the Bobcats' roster heading into 2026-27. Quinnipiac has also added Holden Pierre-Louis, Malik Fields, Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton, Nas Hart, Lucas Sekasi and Ali Diouf heading into the next campaign.
