NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped a MAAC contest at Niagara, 78-76, on Friday night in overtime from the Gallagher Center. The Bobcats move to 11-8 in league action with the result.

Asim Jones led QU with 18 points. He also grabbed five rebounds, recorded three steals and a pair of assists.

Amarri Monroe added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Jaden Zimmerman posted 11 points to go along with six assists.

Asim Jones made a driving layup to put the Bobcats up 68-66 with 25 seconds left, then Niagara's Reggie Prudhomme made a jumper as time expired to force overtime.

Jones then tied things at the end of overtime, knocking down a jumper with 14 seconds left to even things at 76. Prudhomme made the game-winning layup off the inbound pass as time expired, sending Niagara home with the MAAC win.

Quinnipiac shot 26-of-62 in total, knocking down seven 3-pointers for the contest.
Asim Jones' 18 points came via 6-of-10 shooting. The senior guard scored seven points in the second half, then three points in overtime. He has 10 games with 15 or more points in 2025-26.
Amarri Monroe finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. He had eight points and five rebounds over the first 20 minutes of action.
Jaden Zimmerman finished with a team-high six assists, marking his fourth performance of the season with five-plus assists.
Keith McKnight added 10 points off the bench on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting.
Grant Randall chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.

Points in the paint finished even 36-36, and second-chance points also finished tied at 14.
The Purple Eagles' bench scored 36 of their 78 points.
Niagara has taken six of the last eight against Quinnipiac.

Quinnipiac returns to the floor on Sunday, March 1, traveling to Canisius to finish off the regular season schedule.

The Bobcats will head to Atlantic City next week for the MAAC Tournament, which will be held at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
