HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped a MAAC contest on Sunday against Fairfield by the final score of 85-79 from M&T Bank Arena. The Bobcats move to 11-7 in league play with the result.

Jaden Zimmerman led Quinnipiac with 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting. He knocked down four 3-pointers in the contest.

Asim Jones chipped in with 16 points and seven assists. Amarri Monroe added 14 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Five different Fairfield players reached double figure scoring totals, led by 21 from Braden Sparks. The Stags took the lead when Duece Turner knocked down four consecutive free throws with 6:53 remaining. Fairfield finished on a 19-14 run from that point to earn the road win.

GAME REWIND
Fairfield led 39-36 at the end of the first half. Eric Mejia led the Stags with 11 points, while Asim Jones scored 10 first-half points for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac made four 3-pointers over the first 20 minutes, while Fairfield made none.

The Stags shot 53.8% (14-26) in total during the second half of action. Braden Sparks registered 15 points over the final 20 minutes of the game, and Fairfield went 15-of-18 from the free throw line to earn the road win.

The Stags took the lead when Duece Turner knocked down four consecutive free throws with 6:53 remaining. Fairfield finished on a 19-14 run from that point to finish off the victory.

Quinnipiac shot 46.0% (29-63) in total. The Bobcats went 7-of-22 from 3-point range.
There were 25 lead changes in total during the back-and-forth affair, and the game was tied 10 different times.
Jaden Zimmerman now has reached 20 points in five different games during 2025-26. The sophomore guard leads the Bobcats in scoring (16.2 PPG), shooting 39.4% from the floor.

The Bobcats are now 4-4 against Fairfield over the last eight meetings.

NEXT UP
Quinnipiac will finish up the regular season on the road in Western New York. The Bobcats will square off with Niagara on Feb. 27, then travel to Canisius on Mar. 1 to conclude things.

QU will then head to Atlantic City for the MAAC Tournament.
